There’s nothing much to tell other than the fact that we’ve lived in Florida for almost 10 years and love the warm weather and year-round sunshine. We know it’s not for everyone and yes, we don’t get to see the leaves change color or make snowmen but we’re perfectly happy to just kayak around mangroves, thank you very much!
We are both “geeks” and work on the computer a LOT, so we really relish going outdoors whenever we can. The Everglades are about a 45-minute drive from where we live and it’s often one of the first places we take friends and family when they visit. Whether it’s for a take-your-breath-away airboat ride through the sawgrass or just a languid paddle in a kayak through the mangroves, it’s a nice break from the crazy buzz that typically characterizes South Florida. Given how close the Everglades are to Fort Lauderdale, Miami and even West Palm Beach, this is one place that you really don’t want to miss on your trip. It is the closest you’ll get to seeing Florida the way it used to be – untouched and quite magical. Every time we visit, it gets us “out of ourselves” and the 9-5 rush of traffic and deadlines is left behind.
We hope you find this website useful. We’ve tried our best to make it accurate but hope you’ll forgive any errors. We’re open to suggestions so feel free to write in and let us know what you think. In the meantime, here’s something to ponder…
“Honor all with whom we share the Earth:-
Four-leggeds, two-leggeds, winged ones,
Swimmers, crawlers, plant and rock people.
Walk in balance and beauty.”
- Native American Saying
Enjoy the walk!
